"PÉTANQUE: EASY TO LEARN, IMPOSSIBLE TO RESIST!"
WHAT IS PÉTANQUE?
Pétanque is a traditional French game that combines precision, strategy, and social interaction, making it a favorite pastime for people of all backgrounds. Known locally as boules or boccie.
The game is played on a gravel or dirt surface, with players standing inside a designated circle to throw metal boules toward a small wooden target ball known as the cochonnet (or jack).
Points are scored by placing your boules closer to the cochonnet than your opponent's.
While pétanque is easy to pick up, it also challenges players to develop techniques such as pointing (accurate placement) and shooting (knocking opponents' boules away).
The sport can be enjoyed casually with friends or competitively in tournaments. Its emphasis on teamwork, relaxed pace, and welcoming atmosphere make it a fantastic way to connect with others and enjoy the outdoors.
